Fresh Perspectives on Standards-Based Content and Pedagogy

Let Blue Heron address teaching staff's professional development needs with a graduate level course or workshop. We'll provide a high quality and exciting program that helps educators understand content and translate this learning into their teaching. We'll also take care of arranging graduate credit.

We are happy to develop programs to meet your particular needs. However, you might be interested in one of our already existing programs.

Graduate Level Courses
While we will design a course for your district's specific needs, districts and our participants have already found the following programs well worth their while. Courses offered are:

Get the Science Connection

Pathways to Math Understanding

Workshops
(adaptable to offer graduate credit) We're happy to develop programs to meet your goals! Our workshops provide stimulating and practical approaches to teaching standards-based content. Teachers will explore new perspectives on what they already know while also building new understandings. We'll design a program to fit your goals and your schedule--just let us know what you need. We have already designed and run these successful programs:

Pixels and Panoramas
Exploring art & science for deep understanding

Teaching and Learning Across the Curriculum with Engineering Design

Action Research (& Other) Seminars
Sometimes a course or workshop just isn't enough. To really implement new insights into content and pedagogy, teachers need to probe deeply into their practice and their students' learning. Blue Heron's consultants are experienced facilitators of teacher research and can help individuals and professional learning communities examine their practice.
